Painless is written for modern people. The locations all exist on maps, and there are no characters added in with idiosyncrasies or secret knowledge required to make the plot work. The action is not driven by oppressive weapon battles where the hero/heroine somehow overcomes insurmountable odds because they are special. The sex is adult but is not based upon the standard coital conceit of hero meets either heroine or villainess and they have intercourse before trauma. The plot doesn't require fantastic inventions or the idiot principle that insults the reader's intelligence to make the story work. Despite not employing these conceits, Painless delivers all the comedy, tragedy, sex, violence, drama, and the big finish that modern global audience desire.But most of all, Painless is fun, fun, fun.
