The following text selections are excerpted from the unpublished fiction novel NLM. NLM was written in 2009 and deals with the subject of race in America. Although written before the start of the BLM movement the text predicts such behavior. When the text is eventually published the author expects that it will be labelled as “the most offensive book ever written” and very likely will spur book burning events.
The text is a three generational work and is part of a planned series. The text includes some 40 or so songs that are worked into the action. Following are two reworked songs of The Bush Doctor himself…Peter Tosh. Here is a concert ad for the September 19, 1981, Peter Tosh show at the Royal Oak Music Theatre (Detroit) that the author had front row seats for.
The two selections chosen are background songs played at an outdoor park in downtown (Five Points area) Atlanta across from the hotel where protagonists Benny and Kidekezo Koo are staying. Benny has slipped away for a secret meeting. The mysterious Jassino is on stage singing and watching.
The first selection is a re-working of the song African. The second song is a reworking of the song You Can’t Blame The Youth. YouTube links are provided below for those who are unfamiliar with the songs.
The reason for choosing these selections to post now is because there is some real Bumbo Klaat going on in America right now.
